About

Costa Nova is an “accidentally Wes Anderson” seaside gem near Aveiro, famous for its colorful striped houses, fantastic seafood and an endless beach.

The village sits between the Aveiro Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean, making it a great place to combine a walk through the colourful streets with a visit to the long sandy beach.

The palheiros were originally built by local fishermen to store boats and fishing equipment. Over time, they became summer houses and one of the defining symbols of Costa Nova.
